Likely Dreaming was a Finalist in the National Photographic Prize 2016 and won the John & Margaret Baker Fellowship.
“Likely Dreaming” is a pictorial response to the issue of marriage equality in Australia in early 2016. In late 2015, the support for legalising same-sex marriage gained huge momentum; alas, the issue has again taken a back seat. The image depicts a contemplative woman looking through a wedding magazine in a relatively dark, stark room. Through the window can be seen a populated area presided over by a looming, law-making establishment. However, a rainbow- symbolic of popular public opinion- is shown above the houses. The image is intended as a mutli-faceted, yet hopeful depiction of the issue.” 2016
