This series was created at a time when I turned to the forest as a place of healing and understanding after not being able to reconcile words and actions of people.
I had letters from lovers, the most beautiful words put to paper but this was the only tangible evidence I had of love.
The forest became a place of contrast. A place to soothe, seek, know and rest but at the same time these words played over in my head.
I made these photographs while wandering, sitting, crying, laughing, loving amongst nature and then photographed private letters from my lovers and overlayed these at very low opacity so they could not be read, but they are there. Much like the words in my head and heart.
These works are multiple exposures. I photographed my love letters and overlayed them on both single and multiple exposure images at very low opacity so they can’t be seen, but they are there.
A selection of these works is on exhibition at Turks Head Gallery, Albury.
