Why You'll Love It:

  • Food-Safe: Made with only two edible ingredients—perfect for kitchen use.
  • Deep Conditioning: Extra Virgin Hemp Oil deeply nourishes, restoring wood's natural luster and depth of color.
  • Protective Seal: Chiltern Beeswax creates a natural, water-resistant barrier against moisture and wear.
  • Perfect for: Cutting boards, chopping blocks, wooden spoons, bowls, and all timber utensils.

Keep your wood looking beautiful, feeling smooth, and lasting longer!

That's a great question! Applying the wood wax is very easy and makes a huge difference in the life and look of your wooden kitchen items.

Here is a simple guide on how to apply your Chiltern Wood & Kitchen Wax:

Application Guide

What You'll Need:

  • Your Chiltern Wood & Kitchen Wax
  • A clean, soft, lint-free cloth (e.g., a piece of old cotton T-shirt or a microfiber towel).

Steps for Best Results:

  1. Prep the Wood: Ensure the wooden item is clean, dry, and free of food debris. If necessary, wash the item and allow it to dry completely (this may take a few hours).
  2. Apply the Wax: Take your cloth and rub it directly into the tin of wax to pick up a small amount. A little goes a long way!
  3. Rub In: Apply the wax to the wood surface in a circular motion. Make sure to cover the entire piece, including the edges and sides of cutting boards and spoons.
  4. Allow to Soak (Crucial Step): Let the wax sit and penetrate the wood for at least 15-30 minutes. For very dry or new items, you can leave it for several hours or even overnight. The wood will absorb the oils and wax.
  5. Buff: Using a fresh, clean part of your cloth (or a new cloth), gently buff the surface until any excess wax is removed and the wood has a smooth, subtle sheen.

Tip for Cutting Boards and Kicthen Utensils:

It is best to apply wax to cutting boards every few weeks or whenever the wood starts to look dry and pale. The more you wash them, the more often they'll need conditioning.

*Note the wood wax mix is green from the extra virgin hemp oil however this will not stain light woods as the mix dries clear/light golden colour as the oil oxidises. As with all products, it's a good idea to test on on small insconspicuous area*
