This round Elm sugar spoon is hand-carved and finished in Tung Oil from Elm that I sourced and milled from Maragle, NSW.
It’s 10cm long and the bowl is 3.5cm.

This hand-carved spoon is made from a Silver Polar Tree that I felled at Maragle, NSW at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Now before you get upset that I felled a tree to make a spoon, this tree is not native to Australia and therefore what I consider to be a weed.
After carving I baked it in the oven to give it a beautiful golden brown colour and have coated it in 2 coats of tung oil. It’s got my makers mark on the back. The luminous golden sheen of this wood is incredible!
It measures 40cm long, 8.5cm bowl at widest point.
