This hand-carved spoon is made from Bunya Pine ( Araucaria bidwilii) which I salvaged from our local council wood collection depot.
Handcut with an axe and shaped with hand tools, this is my first Bunya Pine piece and I bloody love it.
Finished with 2 coats of tung oil it measures 29cm long and 6.5cm at widest part. It’s a bit of a spatula and spoon hybrid.

This hand-carved spoon is made from a Silver Polar Tree that I felled at Maragle, NSW at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Now before you get upset that I felled a tree to make a spoon, this tree is not native to Australia and therefore what I consider to be a weed.
After carving I baked it in the oven to give it a beautiful golden brown colour and have coated it in 2 coats of tung oil. It’s got my makers mark on the back. The luminous golden sheen of this wood is incredible!
It measures 38cm long, 6.5cm bowl at widest point.
This serving board is made from 140+ year old rough-sawn Messmate timber sourced from the historic ‘Kosciusko’ building in Tumbarumba and has been handmade to preserve the character of the timber and the saw method. It has 3 coats of beeswax salve.
