This hand-carved Elm teaspoon is a quarter (1/4) measure.
It’s been sourced, milled and hand-carved by me from wood at the family farm at Maragle, NSW at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.
It’s 13cm long by 2cm wide and is finished with two coats of tung oil.
The two-toned wood is sexy as.
This serving board is made from 140+ year old rough-sawn Messmate timber sourced from the historic ‘Kosciusko’ building in Tumbarumba and has been treated with the Japanese method of Shou Sugi Ban. Sugi sugi ban is a preservation method where the wood is burnt to preserve the timber.
The board has also been finished in 3 coats of beeswax salve.
